Melissa Richardson is one of Australia’s experts in coaching and mentoring, having worked in the field for over seventeen years. She has designed and implemented mentoring programs across public and private sector organisations, and is at the forefront of the use of technology to support mentoring programs that span geographies. She also has a busy executive coaching and coaching supervision practice, working with senior leaders and with coaches and mentors.
Prior to consulting, Melissa had a successful track record in FMCG multinationals, as a senior Marketing Executive and leadership team member. She later co-founded Galileo Kaleidoscope, a premier brand strategy and market research firm, and led a practice specialising in corporate brand development, vision and culture alignment.
Melissa’s approach brings together her commercial experience with rigorous training in evidence-based techniques in coaching and mentoring. Her subject-matter expertise covers coaching and mentoring strategy & skills, dialogue skills, women and leadership, workplace flexibility, vision and values, wellbeing and energy management, mentoring program design, and facilitation of strategic planning conversations.
Melissa introduced one of Australia’s first mentoring programs for women in the 1990s. This ran for fourteen years through Marketing Women, as association which she founded to support young women working in the marketing profession. Melissa continues to help clients employ mentoring to achieve their diversity goals, and has made mentoring in associations one of her particular areas of specialisation.
Melissa is on the Board of ISMPE (International Standards for Mentoring Programmes in Employment). Her qualifications include a Masters in Organisational Coaching as well as post-graduate qualifications in Strategic Marketing, Coaching Supervision and Counselling. She is accredited in a range of psychometric profiling tools.
